After months of re-reading my old Japanese textbooks from as far back as Minna no Nihongo for Japanese 2 and weeks of doing practice paper after practice paper, the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is finally over.
I was pretty worried about being able to pass the test because I had not been able to complete the reading comprehension and grammar section within the time limit in any of the practice papers I had done. I felt that the examiners were asking for the impossible - how could anyone read 5-8 passages carefully, avoid all the traps in the MCQs, and then go on to answer 3 more sub-sections of grammar questions, all within 70 minutes?
But today, I did just that. I actually completed the reading comprehension and grammar section!!! I couldn't believe it then and still can't quite believe it now. I actually I thought I had missed out on a page or two and double-checked to see that I had really, truly answered all the questions. Perhaps I should have pinched myself to see if I was dreaming as well.
But this probably means that the examiners set an easier paper this year, and this probably means that most of the other candidates would do equally well, if not better, than me. So I might not pass or pass very well, after all. But I'm pass caring now. I'm just glad that it's over and I can get back to reading my manga again =)
