As you can see from the PV, D is still under avex trax. So the rumours that D's contract with avex is only limited to the release of Birth are, unfortunately, untrue. However, it seems that D has not lost their 'indies' edge yet, and hopefully they won't ever go the way of Gackt *shudders*
Yami no Kuni no Alice sounds pretty interesting, and like most of D's songs, you have to listen to it carefully a few times for it to grow on you. Right now, I think the chorus is quite catchy and the song has a whimsical 'fantasy' feel to it which I have not heard in D's other works. And at the risk of sounding shallow (and I readily admit I am no music connoisseur/snob), the first thing that struck me when I watched the PV for the first time was how gorgeous the costumes were. All the band members are looking as pretty as ever, especially Aasama!
So here's to Aasama and D's bright future! As the Chinese saying goes, old ginger is the spiciest.
