I've finally completed my HT research proposal!!!
Now I can start worrying about how to finish the HUGE amount of research I've gathered for the Asia Moderns paper and the equally HUGE amount of stuff I need to study for the Topics in the 20th Century exam (and I'm not even going to study ALL the texts we have covered in the module, mind you).
Oh well, at least I like what I study. Hopefully I can still feel that way for the rest of my life. 'Cos what QH says is true - we are getting old. Nowadays I find I can't work at the speed and intensity I used to. KR has just pulled his first all-nighter over at Cambridge, and here I am needing at least 7 hours of sleep every night, otherwise I'm pretty whacked the next day and I end up walking to my bed semi-consciously and waking up the next morning without remembering when I actually got into the bed.
I also realised recently that I'm writing my essays at a much slower rate than I used to do in my first to third years. I don't know if it's because my essays are getting more complex, or if it's because my editing is getting more rigorous, or maybe it's simply due to my brain slowing down after years of use. Let's hope it's the former two reasons.
On a completely different note, I must say I'm rather surprised to hear that Phantasmagoria has disbanded and Kisaki has officially retired from the active VK music scene earlier this year in Feb. I only found out about it now because I was googling up Mago for the Asia Moderns paper this morning. As usual, I'm the last to find out about things.
I'm not a big fan of Mago but I do like some of their songs and I was even intending to write about their Gensoukyoku ~Eternal Silence~ PV for my paper. Ok, I will still write about them but it's kind of sad to write about them when they have disbanded already, isn't it? Especially since I will also be writing about Versailles, which is Kamijo's latest band. Funny how Kamijo is making a comeback while Kisaki is retiring behind the scenes. Diru seems to be near retirement too considering they're releasing a compilation album of their most famous tracks over almost 2 decades. And then X Japan and Luna Sea are rebanding for lives again. Hmm...
