the space between words

Tuesday, July 10, 2007

I watched The Blossoming of Maximo Oliveros yesterday night with Sam and Kevin and it was a pretty good film (especially for a first-time film-maker) which showed me that art perhaps could still play a role in addressing social issues and galvanizing people to action. As Marx has said, "Heretofore the philosophers have interpreted the world. The point is, however, to change it."

And now I'm going to go off into a rhizomatic "deterritorialization". This morning, I logged into the club forums after 2 years of neglecting it (my apologies to JR and the alumni) and I found out that I had an unread private message. Apparently, a guy I know and who has graduated already was trying to ask me out in July 2005... =___=;

It feels so weird to see such a message now, 2 years later. Like a blast from the past.
I suppose I have lost the opportunity forever, as the guy in question never mentioned anything about going out for dinner again even when I said 'hi' to him along the corridors of Arts. I feel kind of bad about unintentionally ignoring his message, but I guess I don't regret the lost chance very much. I think I would have died from excessive inhaling of cigarette smoke if I went out with him...
