the space between words

I was at OG Orchard on Thursday doing some shopping. Before you stare at me with a horrified look, let me tell you that OG actually sells pretty interesting clothing for young people (and not just auntie clothes) at ridiculously low prices. So ridiculous that I can't see how OG actually earns any profits.

So I was at the ground floor of OG looking for compact powder. This was my first time buying 'real' face make-up and the salesgirl at the Kanebo counter saw that I was very 'blur' and tried to explain her products to me. She told me that I had to take care of my skin now otherwise I will suffer from pigmentation later on blah blah blah and she said that she was speaking from personal experience, being "possibly just a few years older than [me]". I replied, "Yes, that's possible." And then she said, "So how old are you? Seventeen?"

I told her I was 22 years old and it turned out that she was 22 too. The salesgirl seemed a little embarrassed about the mistake and told me I looked very young to her. Oh well, this isn't the first time people have thought that I was much younger than my actual age. Even an ex-classmate from JC mistook me for "some JC kid" when I bumped into him on my way to the manga rental store in my old PE T-shirt and shorts...
