JUBILATION! It's the end of lessons for this semester!
I've handed in all my individual essays, including the one for Crit Theory which is actually due next Tue. The only remaining essay is the JS group project on YAOI and BL manga, and I'll have to edit that tomorrow. The lecturer/tutor of the course has put an immense amount of pressure on me, so I guess I had better do a good job of editing... And by the way, he is the only lecturer who has encouraged me to do Hons and ironically he isn't even one of my Lit teachers. Sigh...
Speaking of Hons year, I attended the briefing for incoming EN, EL and TS Hons students on Fri. I have been really excited about it all week and it almost felt like a momentous event in my life. It effectively marks the beginning of a new phase in our academic career (well, at least to me). Now I have the glorious list of HT topics and it's probably going to be an abiding obsession for the entire summer vacation. I'm going to do my HT and I'm going to do it well!
And I'm glad that I won't be alone in my Hons year. PY, Marianne, Pei, Wan Ching, Charmaine and Diana are all going to be hanging around and I'm sure we'll have a great time together, discussing texts, theories and life in general and helping each other get through the tough times. But it's also sad to see that some of the girls are leaving, and that one of them is being compelled by her parents to give up the Hons year against her volition! There will be fewer familiar faces in class and it's a real pity I didn't get to know many of these girls better in the short time that we have known each other. And Minwei doesn't seem to want to stay on either! What will happen to our Gang of Four...?
And it's also time to say goodbye to the seniors. I'll miss Jean-senpai and HP very much, and it'll be strange not to see some of the more outspoken seniors in class anymore (haha, can't depend on them to fill in the void of silence anymore). It's really annoying that you get to know really wonderful people in their last semester in school and before you know it, you have to bid them farewell... ;__;
But life goes on and all of us have our own paths into the future to open up. But I do hope to keep in contact with friends old and new, seniors who have graduated and of course, the beloved Anime Club. I think I'm going to be wedded to it for life, haha.
