I feel so cheated.
I spent so much time poring over my notes on the human desire for desire in Faust and the trope of art in Old Goriot for the European Lit test today and it turned out that the test consisted of about 15 fill-in-the-blank questions on things like:
Name 3 speakers in the "Prologue in Heaven".
What form does Mephistopheles appear in to the student?
etc. etc.
Sheesh. If I had known the test would be so literally about content, I would have saved myself the time reading all those pages and pages of notes and have read the poems again instead. So I've lost quite a few marks because I couldn't remember what Baudelaire wrote in "Invitation" and "Spleen".
And the test is worth 10% of our CA.
Oh well, I've learnt my lesson. Now I can fully appreciate why PK-senpai felt that Dr Y was a much better teacher than Prof T. And it's such a pity that most people don't appreciate Dr Y enough. They fall asleep in his lectures, or they don't even turn up for them, or worse still, are rude to him and take advantage of his niceness! Ingrates!!! >=(
Haha, and PY said she saw him at Harbourfront going to Vivocity on a Sat. Diana and I underestimate him way too much. He's got more of a life than I do. Heh...
And since we're on the topic of gossip, I've just set a new record for myself in absolute cluelessness about other people's romantic relationships. I've only realised last week when I met Joanne that 2 of my JC classmates were 'together' in the first 3 months of JC and that everyone knew accept me. I'm usually the last one to find out about such things but a full 5 years after the fact is a new record even for me. Joanne and PY asked me what in the world I was doing in my first 3 months in JC not to notice such a thing, and well, I guess I was too caught up in trying to drop Econs... =___=;
