Ugh, if blocked ears were not bad enough, I've been stricken by food poisoning! Spent half a day suffering from non-stop vomitting and diarrhoea until I got a jab at the doctor's. Just went to the doctor yesterday again to get my ears flushed out. After 3 trips to the doctor in 4 days, I've finally stopped puking, started eating (a little) and can hear things clearly now.
But this means that I've missed the Dec Anime Chalet and will miss KC's New Year countdown outing to Cosafe because I don't want to risk eating food cooked 'outside' yet. Bleh.
And Kevin keeps (unwittingly) rubbing in the fact that he and Peiqin are going to take Intro to Film Art next semester and I can't. T____T They had better treasure Dr Y 'cos he's the sweetest!
So what am I doing on New Year's Eve? Clearing the NUS Anime Club committee mailing list of old members and moderators. How inspiring.
After dinner I will be finishing up the Bible. Ok, I didn't really read ALL of it, but since the female Dr Y said that we don't have to read everything but just some of the books, I'm reading selectively. It's been quite fun to read some line in the Bible and go, hey that was referenced in Angel Sanctuary! Haha, Angel Sanctuary is quite an intertextual text with syncretic gestures, and that makes it such an engaging, though confusing, read. Pity I have to leave off at book 6 for now because I need to get started on Oedipus Rex (I really don't see the draw of this classic Greek tragedy) and Dostoevsky's super-lengthy Crime and Punishment. Oh well, I've thought of reading it in the hols before so having it as one of the texts for European Lit should finally get me started on it.
I'm looking forward to meeting Diana, PY and Minwei back in school on Wed for our long-postponed textbook buying + Rebecca film screening + dinner at Ma Maison!
