Attended my Cedarian friend Shirley's 21st birthday party yesterday evening. It seems like we're having one birthday party every month - Juliana's in July, Shirley's in August and mine in September!
Sigh... school's finally starting again tomorrow. Another semester of packed schedules, dizzy rushing of essay deadlines, mountains of schoolwork to wade through... And this academic year promises to be even busier than ever before, now that I'm in my third year, studying advanced Japanese and have taken up a major leadership position in my CCA...
Faced with the prospect of another year ahead, I'm a little excited but also a little scared. Intellectually, I'm not sure if I've advanced very much over the past 2 years to attain what may be called a "3rd-year student's intellect". I have also not touched Japanese for about half a year, and I don't know if I can manage well enough with Japanese 5.
But ultimately, I need to restore my CAP at least partially to it's former glory, so I really need to put in greater effort than before. A lot rests on bringing my CAP back up again, and I'm not going to let myself down!
As for the NUS Anime Club, I hope to be a strong, firm but gentle and patient leader. Apologies to anyone (Ho Wai, I think, in particular) who has already faced the fury of my temper. I promise to try to be less cantankerous when I'm stressed, hehe... ^___^;
It's going to be a trying year, I know, but all of us are going to charge onwards with all our might. I'm going to put Dostoevsky's little man from the underground behind me (though he will always be there as a necessary burden of modernity, I suppose) and give it my best shot.
As all the heroes in shounen anime say, "Zettai ni Makenai!!"
