the space between words

Today was my first day back at NYP. Everything was more or less the same as last year, only now 4 women in the department are pregnant and I've been shoved into a corner of the main office and not a corner of the storeroom. But I think I actually prefer the storeroom (though I'm isolated in both places) because:
1) It is warmer.
2) I have more privacy to indulge in my daily dose of J-rock and to roam about when my butt starts to hurt after sitting on a chair for hours on end.
3) I have more privacy to do my own stuff when I have no work to do.
4) It is quieter.
5) I have more leg room and I don't bump into the cabinet or table legs so easily.

Ah, but I will probably get used to the new position and become indifferent to it pretty soon. And I get paid $6 an hour, which is pretty good by the usual summer vacation job standards.

I watched Kelvin Tong's newest film Love Story yesterday evening with Adnan and Sam. I thought it was a very intelligent and rich film but Adnan thought it was pretentious and lacking in substance. Perhaps Adnan really did feel that the film was lacklustre but I get the feeling he was exaggerating to annoy Sam and I... as usual.

:P
