I should have been happy that five people turned up for my JC class gathering because the subsequent pizza party I organized for my Cedarian friends turned out to be an utter failure. In the end, only one girl could come and so I had to cancel the party at the very last minute. And to think that I believed this party could not have possibly failed since it was the simplest, most pared-down gathering I have ever organized. Seven girlhood friends in my house, pizza, a movie, what could go wrong? Hah.
But I must admit it is my fault that the party ended up a failure. I should have planned the date way in advance and made sure everybody took good notice of it. Then they may not have given up on the party to go somewhere else so easily. I really shouldn't have informed them only a few days in advance... *bows in deep apology to everyone*
But what some of my friends have said is right. It is difficult to keep in touch with old friends. Somehow, I get the feeling that I'm putting in more effort than the others to organize meetings, talk to one another etc. After the not-so-successful JC gathering and the failed Cedar gathering, I'm getting the rather unpleasant feeling that people don't really take my invitations seriously. Oh well...
Plus there are other factors that are genuinely beyond my control. I really appreciate it that Jacq and Juliana tried to come for the pizza party but it really couldn't be helped that Jacq fell ill at the last moment and Juliana had some urgent family matters to attend to. Sigh... looks like the next time I'll see them would be in June next year.
On the 27th of Dec, I went for yet another gathering (thankfully not organized by me) with my two seniors from Synapse, Eric and Carrick (of the rhyming names). It was great fun seeing the two of them again and talking intellectual-sounding crap. Haven't talked and laughed with them for such a long time... Next time, gotta ask Candy and Kelvin out as well...
And Carrick's hair was the highlight of the day! Carrick with floppy F4-hair! Simply unfathomable! I almost couldn't recognize him when he walked into the MRT station with Eric.
Ok, going on from Carrick's hair, let's talk about my teeth. I have just undergone an extraction yesterday and now it's two wisdom teeth down and two more to go! The extraction was surprisingly quick and relatively painless. The dentist gave me some shots of local anaesthetic and then simply wrenched the tooth right out of my mouth. I didn't even have time to register that the tooth was out when it was all over. And now I reek of medicine and listerine... ack.
I should put an end to all this rambling right now. I've watched the Nana movie kindly lent to me by a senior and that means a review coming up soon!
